Parent Information

At Monkton Under Fives, our first aim is to settle each child into the happy and relaxed environment we have created. We help personal and social development by providing opportunities through play to work with other children; learning to share, take turns and being aware of other children’s feelings.

Partnership with Parents

At Monkton Under Fives we strive to establish an excellent partnership with parents and carers. We understand that children’s primary carers are the first and most influential in their life and we view our role in the care of your child as being a partnership. Parents/Carers are encouraged to comment on the children’s unique stories, receive regular feedback about their child’s progress and keep us updated about any ‘wow’ moments their child has when at home. This special relationship with parents/ carers ensures that every child’s learning experience is maximised.
“They have positive relationships with parents and regularly gather and exchange information about children’s needs, achievement and progress.”
(Ofsted, Sept. 2017)

Safety & Security

Keeping your child safe when in our care is of paramount importance. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Our staff adhere to a number of robust policies and procedures to ensure this is the case. All our staff have paediatric first aid training and all new staff are subject to strict safer recruitment procedures. There is one secure entrance into the setting and we operate a password pick-up system if a child is being picked up by someone unfamiliar to the nursery.  Policies and procedures are updated regularly to reflect best practice. The children’s safety and well-being is at the heart of all we do.
“The management committee understands its responsibility to meet the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the EYFS. Staff have received child protection training, and are fully aware of the procedures to follow to help protect children and keep them safe.”
